Every Christian goal is to make it to heaven, but the question is, are you called a Christian?

The Christian

The people at Antioch were first called Christian, here is how.
Acts 11:1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
.
.
.
Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught many people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
These two verses were extracted from Acts chapter 11 for a quick explanation.

1. The people were called Christian.
  • Why are they called Christian?
They assembled themselves and taught themselves.
  • What did they teach themselves?
They taught themselves the word of God.

2. How did they join the assembly?
They heard the word of God.

These two points have explained to us that to be called a Christian, you need to hear the word of God, assemble with the people teaching the word of God, and teach other people the word of God.

At this point, you are called a Christian.

The word of God
John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The word is about Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.
1 Corinthians 15:3, For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
To be called a Christian, you must believe the word of God you have heard or read, after you have believed the word and chosen to be called a Christian, you become a child of God.

The Child of God.

How do you become a child of God?
John 1:12, But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
you are a child of God when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
