*RESTORATION TODAY*
*FRIDAY 4TH AUGUST 2017*
*BY PASTOR DR. G.O. OLUTOLA JP.*
*THEME: PRAYING AS JESUS TAUGHT US.*

_"Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Matthew 6: 8._

We can make prayer harder than it's supposed to be. We think we have to sound a certain way or say specific things. But that isn't prayer. In Matthew 6: 6 - 8 Jesus said: But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him (Matthew 6: 6 - 8 NKJV).

*What Can We Get Out Of This?*
1. Prayer is one-on-one-time with God.
2. Prayer is not about using fancy words.
3. Prayer is not measured by how much you say.

That was easy. All God wants from us is to spend time with Him, and that's all prayer is. God knows what we need before we ask Him. So, even if you don't get the words out the way you'd like, God knows your heart, and what you need. And if you want a good starting point, have a look at the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6, as an outline for what you can pray for. All that's left is get yourself into a distraction-free place and talk to your Father. Do this and you will grow closer and closer to Him.
