RESTORATION TODAY
SATURDAY 24TH DECEMBER 2016
BY PASTOR DR. G.O. OLUTOLA JP.
THEME: DEMONSTRATE YOUR LOVE.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another?. John 13: 34.
There are some words in the English language that can be used as a noun and a verb, for example: dream, risk, joke, plan and LOVE. Love is both a noun and a verb. It's a thing and also an action.
Love as a verb is nothing new. Jesus Himself commanded His disciples to love one another. And John said that God so loved the world that He sent Christ to save it (John 3: 16). The apostle Paul wrote his famous treatise on love in 1 Corinthians 13 where he primarily talked about love as a noun. And even though he didn?t use verb to love in 1 Corinthians 13, he described love in action terms: Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up?, and so on. In other words, true love is best identified by what it does.
The next time you tell someone I love you make sure that person can reply I know, because they've seen your love in action.
ACTION POINT:
Love talked about can be easily turned aside, but love demonstrated is irresistible.
SCRIPTURES:
John 3: 16
1 Corinthians 13: 4 ? 8.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, let Your love fill my heart in the name of Jesus;
2. Heavenly Father, open my eyes to see opportunities to demonstrate my love in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord Jesus, increase my capacity to love in the name of Jesus.
4. Lord, let the blessings of love fill my home in the name of Jesus.
DAILY BIBLE READING:
Nehemiah 12
Zechariah 8
Revelation 16.
